Description
BASIC OF Electric Vehicle
Introduction
When climate change is the main concern, the most sustainability is needed in the field of the automotive industry in terms of fossil fuel combustion where Electric Vehicle with the shortened acronym as EV took the important alternate option.Â
India’s electric vehicle (EV) market is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 90 per cent in this decade to touch $150 billion by 2030, a report by consulting firm RBSA Advisors.
The Indian EV market is currently in its infancy and is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 90 per cent from 2021 to 2030. In terms of penetration, EV sales account for barely 1.3 per cent of total vehicle sales in India during 20-21. However, the market is growing rapidly and is expected to be worth more.
EV technology evolution in India requires a sizable investment in R&D and product development, both on the automobile platforms and battery/charging technology. Collective investment done by 2W, 3W, 4W, EV component makers and last-mile delivery companies was recorded at Rs ~25,000 crores during January– July 2021.
With the unveiling of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020, manufacturers to adopted electric vehicles in an attempt to reduce our dependence on imported oil. The ambitious plan aims to produce 6-7 million electric vehicles by 2020 with an estimated fuel savings of 2.2-2.5 million tons. Vehicle manufacturers in India have a tough road ahead in meeting this goal and tailoring electric vehicles for the Indian market.
