Domain Description
Automotive Steering system / engine control system /ABS / fuel system / any electro mechanical system domain expertise (motor control, motor drives, actuators, sensors, pump, power management, vehicle interface, projection)
Role
This position is located in Bangalore, India. For the right candidate, we are looking for an inquisitive, highly self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to detail and time management skills. The primary responsibility includes requirement development for ADAS & Steering system which is the core of Nexteer Automotive programs. The person must have a strong understanding of automotive electro mechanical software domain (motor control, motor drives, actuators, sensors, pump, power management, vehicle interface, etc.).
The engineer is expected to prepare the high-level requirements in consultation with customer interfacing teams, function owners and domain experts. This position allows the candidate to see the full lifecycle of the project from requirements “to design”, “to testing”, “to implementation”, “to production”. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn about motor control systems and drives, motor control signals, and embedded systems
Essential Responsibilities

- Author Nexteer requirements within assigned domain, based on allocated requirements from customer requirements.
- Responsible for requirement analysis and ensure availability of requirement specifications for all project stakeholders
- Analyze customer, system, and safety requirements to help derive software architecture requirements.
- Responsible for defining, creating and managing new software level requirements and deriving of performance, robustness & implied requirements
- Participate in requirements compliance matrix (RCM) reviews, supporting allocation of requirements to assigned domain. Actively participate in peer reviews & clarifying open points
- Derive requirements within assigned domain and allocate to lower areas of the Nexteer EPS requirements hierarchy.
- Ensure maintenance, revision control, and communication of assigned Nexteer domain requirements based on Nexteer change control practices.
- Support of requirements management process for functional owners, analysts, architects and project leaders
- Tracking of completion of requirements analysis process and reporting of status to project management and maintain and report out on quality metrics.
- Support in ensuring traceability among requirements and traceability to design documents, test plans and work tasks
- Automation of requirement management tasks and report generation (using scripting tool like DXL, Java, Python)
Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Engineering Degree in electronics / electrical / mechanical / computer science / Information Technology
- 4+ years of automotive embedded software development. At least 2+ years of experience with management of technical requirements for complex mechatronic systems.
Must Have Qualifications
-
- Broad Technical Background with general knowledge of 8-bit /16-bit/ 32-bit micro controllers, multi core architectures, Electrical motor, BLDC motor, pump, sensors, power pack technology, automotive system safety and environmental requirements
- Strong skills in Requirement analysis and Software Design
- Working knowledge of software (Automotive) development processes, V Model & ALM tools
- Working knowledge of vehicle networking protocols like CAN, LIN, Flex ray
- Strong skills in DOORS/DNG and ALM tools
Preferred
- Understanding of Electric Power Steering Systems (EPS) architecture.
- Knowledge and experience on functional safety (ISO26262), ASPICE.
- Working knowledge of diagnostics, Vehicle interface, manufacturing process
- Working knowledge of UDS, AUTOSAR
- Scripting skills for automation using DXL, Java, Python
